How to use OfferUp

Getting started with OfferUp is straightforward.

  2. To Sell an Item: Tap the 'Post' button. Take several clear photos of your item. Write a descriptive title and a detailed description. Set your price and select the item's category. Choose if you want to offer local pickup only or also nationwide shipping.
  3. To Buy an Item: Browse the main feed or use the search bar to find what you are looking for. You can filter results by location, price, and category. When you find something you like, you can ask the seller a question using the in-app chat or make an offer.
  4. Complete the Transaction: If the seller accepts your offer, you can arrange a meeting for local pickup. Use a Community MeetUp Spot for safety. For shipped items, you pay through the app, and the seller sends the item to you.
  5. Rate the User: After the transaction is complete, both the buyer and seller can rate each other. This helps build a reliable community.
